WWII Naval KM Blucher (Cont): "The Main Armament"

Construction continues apace in the German Naval yards (see below):


Assisted by the strong cup of tea (the absolute vital ingredient to a Sunday afternoon modelling stint while the kids watch TV at Granddads) the KM Blucher gets her main 8" armament in place (see below):


Just a question of catching up with the superstructure now!

    Very nice! I often see 1/700 kits cheap at the hobby shops over here in Japan so if there's anything in particular you're after let me know and I'll keep a look out for you.

    Hello Tim,

    Yes this scale is a funny one.

    You either have access to a ballroom or school field to play in or they quickly become a "modelling" for your own interest exercise.

    I have seen the Prinz Eugen being represented (by a black piece of cardboard) in a Baltic 1945 WWII scenario as "Off Table Artillery" of the most extreme kind - which does give a minimal wargame potential

    One downsize of these ships (and they are not the largest aka 1/350 by any means) is that they take up a lot (and I mean a lot) of 'loft space'
