We have very successful naval battles with 1:1200 WW2 ships, some over 30 years old! See

I am also very envious of your collection
You have a few pieces (HMS QE in particular) I would like to have myself

I guess it really is a visual scale thing with me

1/1200 scale is a beautiful scale to model in
The character of the playing pieces is excellent, however it is a matter of fitting them onto the playing space

To be fair 1/3000 and 1/6000 are also large relative to most gamers tables

To be fair I have the same issues with 20mm WW2 land versus 1/200 or 1/300

One of the challenges of the Naval game is to restrict the information to the players (see my post regarding PBEM)

I guess I may be seeking here more of a simulation than game
