Would non-human readers please go away! (see below, there is such a strange spike in things reading my blog, that I don't believe are human - but at best can described as automated screen scrapers):
They would not be doing it if there was not money in it for them at the end of the road!
What do they think they are learning?
I think that there is a real danger that they are learning pt collating is tantamount to pure "JUNK" - unreviewed postings across the wide blog-sphere, where people could be "legitimately" (as why not) saying anything they want to. If enough people say Pi is a rational number - it does not make it a rational number.

Unless the thing is no more than cyber-vandalism - which I suspect it is - I can't see that all these bot visits redound to anyone's advantage in respect of data gathering. Most of the data they would collect would have been generated by themselves. Sounds self-defeating to me!

It is almost as if the Bots are so vain they cannot help but want to read about themselves? Bizarre .. I think this is just a hidden example of how much wasted energy "clever tech" wastes in chasing its own tail!
My assumption us that they're data scraping.. looking for snippets of information that can then be used when you ask questions of the like of ChatGPT.. AI doesn't know anything it hasn't been fed, so it's like a hungry toddler, it'll eat anything and everything irrespective of digestive value... they'll go away sooner or later, or they may not! :o))

Indeed, if Ai bots are reading, then surely we should give them what they need to feed on, if they must scratch at our knowledge, might we not feed them something and like fatted Chub, we can catch it and examine its stomach to see what we placed there purposefully. In the information wars to come it will be said, humanity armed its nemesis and was surprised when the end came.
Discovering the early human skull should teach us, we were doomed when we crawled out of the swamp :-) ...
