The ongoing adventures of a boy who never grew out of making and playing with plastic model kits (and even some metal ones too). Also a wargamer in search of the perfect set of wargaming rules for WWII Land and 20th Century Naval campaigns.

(My bad!) I meant I will miss "PoundWorld and the other "PoundWorld Group" shops
They were very good for cheap wargaming miscellany. That means more £1 packets of:
Cheap "Superglue".
Cheap "PVA".
Cheap "DIY lining paper".
Cheap "Masking Tape".
Cheap "Storage Containers".
Cheap "Cable Ties".
There are probably many other things too.
But also, quite a few people (and families) have lost their jobs
I thought that it was Poundworld and not Poundland that was closing branches. I visited a local Poundland branch yesterday, and it was full of stock, staff, and customers.
I have not yet seen media coverage of problems at Poundland (you had me worried there as Poundland is my retail second home and I have applied for dual nationality)
I agree it is said when such Woolworths type chains close as they are (entry level) retail jobs for many people and I have often found their staff attitude to customer care better than many "better" shops.
What a relief. What would I do without my cheap (but increasingly expensive*) Poundland source of £1 Soldier tubs? *Once 100 figures for £1, now 70 for £1.
Still full of potential for my conversions https://manoftinblog.wordpress.com/2018/01/28/pound-store-plastic-figure-conversions-and-comparisons/

All the best,
Bob
Poundworld is closing, Poundland is still expanding as far as I'm aware.
Mild panic - Do you mean Poundworld?
