Worthington Books - Braveheart Scottish Battles

I have been looking forward to getting my hands on this Worthington Games book. Seeing as I have really enjoyed the Waterloo, Gettysburg and Bismarck games to date (see below, a small point to note - the previous four Worthington games were picked up through Amazon "pay and print" service, yet for some untold reason the print I could only find a physical copy of this game from Second Chance Games (www.secondchancegames.com) and I thank them for their services to wargaming): 

Looking forward to play this with my Scottish relatives. As per the Waterloo game I intend to translate this game to table top - thinking of it as a good use for some 28mm medieval miniatures ;) 

Keeping up with the Jones' : Friends Wargaming Periods

Pretty thing alert! Pretty thing alert! Be warned 28mm metal "Shiny Things" close to hand. Danger close! Danger close! The warning comes as I am being invited to a local "all day big event" in January 2017 and the temptation to contribute to a longer term "group" project runs high (see below, an English 17th Century battle-line, looking very steady behind fortifications):

A new period for me, post ECW when muskets became the thing and pikes became the past, but hung around in "dribs and drab"s. This also means a new rule set to digest (Under the Lilly Banner), but I think I will try and "wing it on the day". Don't know the battle and don't know whether I will be 'good guys' (see above) or 'bad guys' (see below, some fine Frenchmen "in bleau"):

Bannockburn 1314 Visitor Centre - 3D Computerised Battle Game Experience

And it came to pass that my Scottish in-laws took it upon themselves to take their  English son-in-law to Bannockburn. Are they trying to tell me something? That they know how much of a "Big Kid" I am and how much I was going to enjoy myself in a "Time Commanders" style battle re-enactment with virtual troops.

As luck would have it I (the Englishman) was posted to the Scottish Army with my daughter. My Scottish wife and mother-in-law along with my two sons were playing the English. A tad ironic ;) as I stood in line next to no other than Robert the Bruce, played by a nine year old little (Scottish) girl (see below):

Suffice it to say that I had a whale of a time, though I must confess to mixed emotions as on Day 2 of the battle my unit of Scottish bow felled the English king (Edward II) and won the game. However as I left the Battle Room I felt elated, pondering but one question 15mm or 25/28mm?
