BattleTech: Missed It First Time Round .. so .. Got It On Re-launch
Sad fact, I never grew up, so when the opportunity come along to get something that I missed when I was a kid - I find it hard to refuse (see below, Sci-Fi "mech war" that is looking increasingly viable in the not too distant future):

I picked up the Alpha strike boxed set just recently to get back into battletech
I am an old timer, first timer but i think the appeal is the same!
RoboCop was a great film, and the rise of OCP, Omni Consumer Products, surprisingly prescient for the 1980s.
And also the hitman baddie who is the ultimate Mr Sinister. PS: I also know a mutual friend who uses 1/200 Action 200 Skytrex Scuds for BattleTech "missiles"!
