Following on from a comment from Tim Gow's Fletcher Pratt wargame I took an enjoyable YouTube diversion to discover some more about The History of Wargaming Project:

Also of interest, there is a YouTube series on the Fletcher Pratt naval wargame rules:

OK, this was not on the New Year list, so it us a deviation, but courtesy of Mr. Tim Gow and Mr. John Curry, who I can only thank for it :)

Thanks for reminding everyone about these Geordie. I've not watched the Fletcher Pratt footage - but then I dont have to as I was there!
Thanks for pointing them out to me. Is there any more Conference of Wargamers stuff on YouTube? John Curry's stuff was extremely interesting I will have to get my hands on the Fletcher Pratt and Fred Janes books at some point! It makes me want to move away from my beloved GQII games. I think your contributions are also captured on the Fletcher Pratt videos :)
It has certainly whet my appetite for the CoW events. It is just a case of finding the time and overcoming logistic challenges ...
Excellent links and very interesting. Thanks for those.
Glad you found them interesting too, this Conference of Wargamers looks a "nice" gathering of like minded individuals
There certainly seems to be both high brow and fun content :)
