All made and painted (bar putting the decals on).
Additionally I believe I have a Trumpeter Pz VII Ausf B (Henschel) in the loft somewhere still to make. So there is absolutely NO need for another. But Airfix in their wisdom brought one out so ...
Looking inside the kit is very well modeled as per all the new Aifix toolings :)
However there is still the typical Airfix gripe on details as from what I can see the version they have given us is the Porsche type (Pz VII Ausf A) tanks and yet on their packaging says Ausf B. Given the Ausf A had such a brief combat career (as its turret had an unhealthy "shot trapping" characteristic) at least a variant for both turrets was hoped for (I'll check closer later but on first inspection I could not see one).
I weakened and got one ... is there a self help therapy group out there I could join (other than Wargamers Ring and the Airfix tribute forum)?

No, sorry, absolutely no therapy offered anywhere on earth. Believe me I've checked. As a fellow sufferer I can commiserate but not help. I've friends who are as addicted to their hobbies as we are and the feeling is a transferable one. I bought Hat's WW2 German wagons and realised that I don't actually have enough life span left to build and paint what I already have.
I have seen one and this is a very good mold, with high detailed surface and good tracks, congrats

Hi Mark. Airfix are right, you are wrong. The King Tiger (as we know it) is the Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf B (SdKfz 182). The Germans didnt give a different Ausf designation to the Porsche and Henschel turrets. The Airfix one is one of the first 50, which means it is good for Normandy. Cheers, Ken
Ah,thanks Renko,just when I thought I knew a thing or two about tanks, pride comes before a fall ;)
It also means that I can only sensibly get another 48 models!

On the plus side you can build a diorama with Lt Gorman and his Sherman Ballyragget ramming one!
